Drug and Alcohol Assessments
Do you need to get your license reinstated? Has the court ordered you to get a drug and alcohol assessment?
As you may be aware, individuals who have been arrested for an alcohol or controlled substance related offense are required by the State of Michigan to submit an SOS-257 (Substance Use Evaluation) and it is also recommended to provide additional evidence (including a drug or alcohol assessment) prior to reinstatement of his/her license. For over 7 years, I have been performing drug and alcohol assessments, group counseling and individual therapy in both residential and outpatient settings in the greater Lansing area in a welcoming, safe, supportive, clinical setting.
What to Expect
Assessments take place in a clinical setting, and usually last between 1.5 and 2 hours. Upon completion of the assessment, the final report is completed within 10 business days. The report includes a full biopsychosocial assessment, drug and alcohol history, DSM-5 diagnosis, and results from the Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory (SASSI), Michigan Alcoholism Screening Test (MAST) and Drug Abuse Screening Test (DAST), as applicable.
Please note, these are independent assessments and are not intended as on-going therapy, however, this option is available for those working through substance use/abuse/addiction. These assessments are not typically run through insurance and are private pay. Payment in full is due at time of service.
